Getting A License in Miami & Broward

Getting a license in South Florida can be daunting & nerve-racking process as it deals with different steps for each type of individual seeking to obtain a license.

We want to help you with any confusion regarding the License Process. So, we’ve gone ahead and broken down the driver license process to make it easy for you to understand & know what the steps to take in order to get your FL license.

The easiest way to break down the process is to separate license seekers by age. Just press the age group you belong to.

IF YOU HAVE A LICENSE FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO THE
DRUG & ALCOHOL COURES, YOU MUST COMPLETE ALL OTHER STEPS

DRIVERS UNDER THE AGE OF 18

REQUIREMENTS:

  • You must be at least 15 to start the process

  • You must have a parent or guardian approval to get a Fl Learners Permit

  • You will only be able to get a Learners Permit & must drive with someone who is 21 years of age or older and has a valid FL Class E driver license until you get the Class E License later on.

  • You must hold The Learners Permit for at least a year or until you’re 18 in order to take The Driving Exam & get the Class E Driver License (Regular License)

To obtain Learners Permit & start learning to drive you must complete & pass:

  1. Traffic Law & Substance Abuse Education Course – commonly know as The Drug & Alcohol Course. This course is mandatory for all first-time drivers in the state of FL

  2. Road Rules & Signs Permit Exam – Computer test regarding all road signs & laws in the state of FL. The Permit Exam can be taken at a third-party office like AB AUTO DRIVING SCHOOL or at the DMV.

DRIVERS OVER THE AGE OF 18

  • If you don’t know how to drive & DON’T HAVE a learner’s permit, you must start in step 1 below.

  • If you don’t know how to drive & HAVE a learner’s permit, you can learn to drive on your own or with a driving school (like us, click here for more info). Once you learn how to drive, you can go to step 3 below.

  • If you know how to drive & DON’T HAVE a learner’s permit, you must start in step 1 below.

  • If you know how to drive & HAVE a learner’s permit. You can go to step 3 below.
